Deer Camp: The Musical!
DEER CAMP hilariously follows four fearless deer hunters on their annual trek to deer camp. But things are looking bleak this season. After decades of hunting trips, the guys have yet to bring home a single deer and the wives are getting suspicious. This season they need to show their wives that they are the mighty hunters they claim to be. This is not so easy when the thought of drinking beer and hanging out in the deer shack is more appealing than freezing in a deer stand. Luckily for our guys, what happens at deer camp stays at deer camp. Laugh and sing a long as they hatch a plan to save their hunting paradise without firing a shot.
The show features hilarious songs like: Mighty Hunters, She’s Playing Bingo, If I Were A Male Dancer, Coupon Clippin’ Ladies, River of Bre and The Grunt Horn Song.

The Creative Team
Gene Jurek, playwright, has been involved the advertising, marketing, and entertainment venues since 1960. Deer Camp the Musical, is his first stage play. He is currently adding the finishing touches to the script for Holy Bells! A Deer Camp Christmas, which makes its debut during the upcoming Christmas season. Gene said, "No matter how many times you see this play there is always something different. The guys keeps adding twists and turns to my script which keeps it fresh. Sometimes I don't even recognize what I thought I wrote." Gene resides in Waite Park, MN.
Doug Spartz, composer, has an uncanny ability to take a few words or a simple idea and change it into memorable song. His last album, The One Who's Leavin', was on the top ten Americana chart for months. To date, he has published countless songs and recorded many albums. He was recently named Americana Artists of the Year. Doug is also the Executive Director of the Mid-America Hall of Fame. He resides in Pine River, MN.
